There are conferences, and then there are conversations that move the field forward.
The Wilson Educational Forum, named in honor of Dr. Steve Wilson, was designed from the ground up to be the latter. Held from April 17 to 19 in Sarasota, Florida, it brought together 30 of the world’s most accomplished penile implant surgeons for three days of intensive education, candid discussion, and the kind of peer-to-peer collaboration that simply doesn’t happen at larger events.

The caliber of the room said everything about the Forum’s mission.

The program featured more than 15 presentations from recognized experts across the full spectrum of prosthetic urology practice, including advanced surgical techniques, patient selection and counseling, complication management, practice growth, and professional development. The content was designed for practitioners who are already performing at the highest level and want to keep pushing.
Beyond the Podium
Some of the Forum’s most valuable moments happened away from the presentations. The networking components were built into the schedule deliberately, including a private dinner hosted at the home of Dr. Steve and Barbara Wilson. This intimate setting accomplishes what a banquet dinner can’t: It slows the conversation down and lets real relationships form.
In prosthetic urology, surgical challenges don’t follow a 9-to-5 schedule, and knowing you can pick up the phone and talk to someone who has seen what you’re seeing, someone who trained in the same room, who shared a dinner, who understands the nuance, is genuinely valuable.

The Wilson Educational Forum is the flagship professional education initiative of the Wilson Foundation, and this inaugural edition set a high standard. It demonstrated that a small, curated gathering of elite specialists focused entirely on advancing methodology and sharing knowledge is exactly the kind of event the field has needed.
