At Perito Urology, education remains a cornerstone of our mission. From June 16-19, 2026, we welcomed three accomplished urologists to Miami for an intensive, one-on-one penile implant training experience with Dr. Paul Perito.
Over the course of two surgical days and two clinical days, our guest urologists participated in 15 cases ranging from routine primary implants to complex reconstructive and revision procedures, providing a comprehensive look at modern inflatable penile prosthesis (IPP) surgery.
The program focused on the nuances of the Perito infrapubic penile implant technique, advanced reservoir placement, pump positioning, management of challenging anatomy, and postoperative care strategies that have helped establish Dr. Perito as one of the world’s most recognized prosthetic surgeons.
Celebrating the Baylor Legacy
This training session was particularly special because it reunited two surgeons connected by one of the most influential fellowships in sexual medicine and men’s health—the renowned program established by Dr. Larry Lipshultz at Baylor College of Medicine.
Joining us was Dr. Rajanahally Saneal of Atlanta, Georgia, a fellowship-trained men’s health specialist and reconstructive urologist. Also participating was internationally respected prosthetic surgeon Dr. Bernardo Cisneros of Mexico City’s ABC Hospital, a longtime friend and esteemed colleague of Dr. Perito.
Although decades separate their respective fellowships, both surgeons exemplify the surgical excellence, academic rigor, and commitment to patient care that have long defined the Baylor tradition. Their presence served as a reminder of the lasting impact Baylor has had on the field of prosthetic urology worldwide.
Welcoming Surgeons Dedicated to Excellence
Also attending was Dr. Jonathan Zurawin of Stockbridge, Georgia, a Tulane-trained urologist who joined the program to further expand his expertise in advanced penile implant surgery and prosthetic management.
We were equally pleased to host Dr. Tim Atalla of Kensington, Maryland, a George Washington University-trained urologist who recently entered private practice and sought focused mentorship in contemporary penile prosthetic surgery.
Throughout the week, participants engaged in extensive discussions surrounding surgical decision-making, complication avoidance, revision strategies, and optimizing patient outcomes. As always, some of the most valuable lessons occurred outside the operating room—during patient consultations, postoperative visits, and candid conversations among colleagues dedicated to advancing men’s health.
