What is a “Titan of Titans”?
Coloplast selects recipients based on the following criteria:
- Advocacy and Leadership: To be eligible for the award, a recipient must be an active member in urological societies such as the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA), the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons (GURS), the Society of Urological Prosthetic Surgeons (SUPS) or the American Urological Association (AUA) and display thought leadership in the field.
As a long-standing member of many of these societies and creator of the Perito Implant™, Dr. Perito easily exceeds this criterion. - Patient Impact and Community Engagement: A “Titan of Titans” recipient needs to have demonstrated an impact on patient outcomes in normalizing inflatable penile prostheses as a treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED).
Dr. Perito has been an educator to surgeons and patients alike as to the efficacy of penile prosthesis as a safe, reliable, and effective method of treatment for ED, and Perito Urology has consistently been the top-performing penile implant clinic in the world. His Youtube series, “Meet the Penis,” currently has over 30,000 followers and is an invaluable resource for patients, prospective patients, and people curious about ED treatments worldwide. - Clinical Expertise: A “Titan of Titans” requires a minimum of ten years’ experience in IPP surgeries and at least 1000 lifetime procedures.
In addition to Dr. Perito’s fourteen years at Perito Urology, he also performs at least 500 implant surgeries annually, including over a dozen in a single day.
